Steve bumped by F1600 car #4 at F1's Montreal GP

I was doing pretty good during Sunday's F1600 race at F1's Montreal GP, that is until the #4 car driven by Jack Jr Mitchell bumped me in corner 8 ...

At Ferrari festival in Little Italy

Lots of fun here in Ottawa at Ferrari festival with the Formula Mazda and the Mortimer Racing crew! I got to demo the car up and down Carling Ave and Nigel drove Joe's Formula Atlantic (black car in the picture below).

Fall Classic at Circuit Mont-Tremblant

Got to practice some more in the Mazda at Mont-Tremblant. Got my racing license, woohoo!
Decided not to take part in the Formula libre races – need more time out on the track with the Mazda to battle with the regulars .. But what a great 4 days at the track. Thursday's driving on wet with slicks was quite the experience.
Big thanks to my crew, Nigel and his crew, and my fellow drivers who kept my spirits up!

Successful testing at Calabogie Motorsporsts Park

Testing at Calabogie went very well. The weather cooperated and though it was a tad windy and chilly friends showed up to cheer Steve on with much enthusiasm.

Nigel making some final adjustments

After the first lapping session we could tell that he had not lost his racing instincts.

Thumbs up heading for the track

He will need more track time so that he feels more comfortable to go out on the track for a full fledged race but all in all, it looks promising!

Hooking up with Mortimer Racing

Testing day is Oct 9th at Calabogie (Rain date 10th)!

  • There will be other cars there as well
  • Track time is 3 - 20 minute sessions
  • Nigel says that should be plenty for first time out
I’ll be driving the car that Nathan drove in Montreal.
  1. Sat in the car for 20 minutes while we chatted (I coulda slept in there it was so comfy J )
  2. The view in the 2 tiny mirrors is fantastic, 180 degrees. Virtually no blind spot without even turning your head
  3. Heel and toe – pedals are set so close you almost have to do it, it just becomes natural

Feels good!

Feet are a little close!
